Recently, Epson released the sixth generation of its EcoTank ink tank printer series, adding several new models aimed at home learning and everyday printing of documents. Epson said that the new series includes upgrades to its popular 1-series home printers, as well as 3-series home printers, and these upgrades are mainly in the hardware, structure, and smart parts.
In terms of hardware, Epson says the new series improves ink supply structure, improves materials, and introduces an adaptive printhead maintenance function, exploiting algorithms based on device use and environmental factors to automatically adjust printhead cleaning frequency to help reduce nozzle clogging and improve print quality stability.
Supporting remote monitoring via a WeChat mini-program, the printers allow users to check ink levels and device status anytime, thus helping better visualize and simplify routine maintenance and consumables management.
For appearance, sixth-generation EcoTank printers change to an adaptive body size and frame structure, while achieving a bigger lid opening angle and an upgraded paper tray that holds A4 paper. They continue to use Epson’s Heat-Free printers – technology that eliminates the need for heat during printing to reduce energy consumption, dust, and ozone emissions—some models of the series support wired, wireless, and direct mobile connections.
Functionally, the new printers maintain the large-capacity ink tank system for volume colour printing, adding Economy Vivid Mode to optimize ink use and printing efficiency while maintaining print quality.
On the software side, the new sixth-generation models feature an enhanced AI learning assistant that tightens features such as test question generation, homework correction, and copybook creation. Via cloud printing mini-programs, users can manage printing tasks and refresh exam papers, making the series of printers very suitable for home learning.
